Pure Sax - Saxophone Quartet
On Saturday 4th April we were very proud to be invited to play at the wedding of Claire and Nick. Why so special? Claire is the daughter of our Sop/Alto player, Brent
We performed in the conservatory of the Dimple Well Lodge Hotel, Ossett whilst guests were arriving and enjoying pre-meal drinks. The father of the bride can be seen, still in morning suit, on soprano sax
On New Years Eve the quartet dressed up, 1920's style, to provide period music and entertainment at a Great Gatsby Evening hosted by the KP Club in Pocklington near York.
It was great to see so many of the guests entering into the spirit with Flappers and Al Capone lookalikes galore.
Musical Lockdown Blues News
The musical world has been devestated during 2020 due to the lockdown regulations imposed as part of the Covid-19 pandemic. Like many other ensembles we have been unable to rehearse together or perform publicly since mid March.
As other groups, we have kept out practice going, stayed in touch with one another and are looking forward to the day we can return to working together as an ensemble.
What we have been able to do is produce our first virtual performance. This means that each member of the ensemble has recorded their part of the quartet in their own home and this has them been stitched together to form a complete performance. The piece that we have chosen, from our extensive repertoire, is the theme from Wallace and Gromit - The Wrong Trousers
